The Blue Lock universe is about to undergo a major change. This is because the spin-off Blue Lock: Episode Nagi , centered on the talented Seishiro Nagi , will come to an end with its eighth volume, scheduled for August 12, 2025. The news caught fans by surprise, especially since it leaves the character's fate open-ended, something that has generated many theories on social media.

Ultimately, the manga served as an opportunity to explore more deeply the backstory and conflicts of Nagi, which could not be developed in the main series, since Isagi is the narrative focus. In fact, the spin-off was so successful that it received a film adaptation with impressive box office numbers. However, even with this reach, the decision to end the series was confirmed through the profile @mzk_70 on X (formerly Twitter).

Is there still room for Nagi in the main storyline?

Blue Lock: Episode Nagi

Surprisingly, the end of the series coincides with Nagi's sudden departure from the Blue Lock program, as seen in chapter 299 of the main manga. According to Muneyuki Kaneshiro, the author of the work, Nagi fell to 24th place in the ranking system and ended up being eliminated. Although he is considered the second protagonist of the series, his lack of a strong ego was decisive.

However, chapter 302 rekindled hope. In it, we see Nagi trying to return to ordinary life, until he realizes that his true desire is to return to the Blue Lock. Therefore, the ending of the spin-off series may have been a narrative strategy to maintain suspense surrounding his return.

Furthermore, even after receiving a club offer, Nagi still hasn't found his ego—one of the central themes of the work. Therefore, even though the spin-off is coming to an end, a twist that brings the player back to the center of the plot cannot be ruled out.
