My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

The early screening of the first episode of the anime Blue Lock at Anime Expo 2022 received a lot of positive feedback on Twitter during the screening. Fans were already anticipating the quality, given the first trailer released by Studio 8-Bit.

Synopsis:

The story begins with Japan's elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, prompting the Japan Football Union to launch a program to recruit high school players who will begin training for the 2022 World Cup. Isagi Yoichi, a striker, receives an invitation to this program shortly after his team misses out on qualifying for the national tournament.

Their coach, Ego Jinpachi, intends to "end Japan's failing football" by introducing a radical new training regime: isolating 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called "Blue Lock" and putting them through rigorous training with the goal of creating "The best striker in the world."

Authors Kaneshiro and Nomura launched the manga magazine Weekly Shounen in August 2018.

Finally, the work won the "Best Shounen Manga" award at the "45th Annual Manga Awards" event held by Kodansha.
