The tactical strategy franchise Tiny Metal is expanding its universe with an anime. Titled Tiny Metal: Zero Line, the project had its pilot episode screened worldwide during Japan Expo 2026, held in Paris, marking the beginning of a new phase for the series created by AREA35.

Hiroyasu Kobayashi directs the anime, known for his work as CGI director on the Rebuild of Evangelion, with animation by studio SAFEHOUSE, responsible for Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance. Yusuke Kozaki designs the characters, the same artist from Fire Emblem, while the soundtrack is composed by Go Shiina, of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

What is the story behind Tiny Metal?

The story takes place after the Great War, a period that left behind the so-called Lost Tech, a collection of hidden combat machines. Although the Kingdom of Artemisia avoids using this technology because of its destructive past, Major Nathan Gries believes that locating these artifacts is the only way to stop a new global threat.

In addition to the anime, Tiny Metal 2 is scheduled to arrive on PC via Steam in the spring of 2027. Finally, the animation features naval battles, new commanders, and a brand new story set years after the events of the original game.
