Shueisha 's Tonari no Young Jump web magazine published "chapter 0" of the new manga adaptation of Studio Trigger's original anime BNA: Brand New Animal this Friday (May 29).

The BNA manga illustrated by Asano is only available in Japanese.

The anime licensed by Netflix aired from April 9 to May 6, 2020, consisting of 12 episodes and an original story by Studio Trigger.

Synopsis:

In the 21st century, the existence of human-animal hybrids has come to light, concealing a dark past. High school student Michiru lived a normal life until one day she suddenly transforms into a human-tanuki. She flees and takes refuge in a special city known as "Anima City," created 10 years prior by human-animal hybrids so they could live independently. There, Michiru meets Shirou, a human-wolf who hates humans. But through Shirou, Michiru begins to learn about the concerns, lifestyle, and enjoyment of human-animal hybrids. While Michiru and Shirou try to understand why Michiru became a human-animal hybrid, they encounter a major incident.

Furthermore, BNA was directed by Yoh Yoshinari ( Little Witch Academia ), with a screenplay by Kazuki Nakashima ( Kill la Kill ) and the soundtrack composed by Manabua (Megalobox).
