Capcom confirmed this Tuesday (4) that Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny will be remastered and released in 2025. Capcom announced the remaster during the Capcom Spotlight event, but has not yet revealed details about the graphical and mechanical changes.
The game, originally released in 2002 for PlayStation 2, continues the saga of the first title and features Jubei Yagyu as the protagonist . Set 13 years after the events of Onimusha: Warlords , the game combines action, historical narrative, and supernatural elements in feudal Japan.
Expansion of the Onimusha universe
The Onimusha franchise had its first game remastered in 2018, and now Capcom is following up with Samurai's Destiny. The game stands out for offering a larger world to explore, new allied characters, and an improved combat system .

Unlike previous games, the new adventure will feature a brand-new protagonist wielding the iconic Oni Gauntlet . The setting will be inspired by Kyoto's historical landmarks, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple . According to the developers, combat will emphasize strategy and the satisfaction of defeating enemies by absorbing their souls.
