As the new series' narrative follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the comparison between Castlevania and Nocturne is inevitable. However, this comparison shouldn't be seen as a limitation for the new series. While Trevor Belmont faced loneliness due to his family's betrayal, Richter begins his journey in the same way, but under different circumstances.

Nocturne season 1 is about Richter overcoming his trauma and taking on the responsibility of confronting the threats facing his world. Castlevania, on the other hand, only presents a small fraction of the world of Trevor, Alucard , and Sypha . Therefore, the new series had room to expand the world after the original series' conclusion.

At first, Richter and Maria appear to have the same dynamic as Trevor and Sypha, a fighter-sorceress duo. However, the characters' abilities vary depending on their cultural backgrounds. Finally, the season finale brings the long-awaited arrival of Alucard, which increases excitement for the next season. Like the original series, Nocturne has the potential for constant improvement in its future seasons.

Synopsis:

France, 1792, the height of the French Revolution. In a remote region in the west of the country, the counterrevolutionary aristocracy forms an alliance with the terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to "consume the sun" and use an army of vampires and Creatures of the Night to end the revolution and enslave humanity. The sorceress Annette seeks Richter Belmont, the last descendant of the legendary vampire hunting family, to lead the resistance.

Finally, the anime focuses on Richter Belmont, descendant of Sypha and Trevor, and is set in the French Revolution (1789-1799), inspired by the games Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania: Symphony of Night.
