According to Kodansha 's Morning magazine , the staff for the adaptation of the Cells at Work! Code Black spinoff manga has been revealed

The new anime arrives in January 2021, animated entirely by Liden Films (Terra Formars, Hanebado!), directed by Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood), with a script by Hayashi Mori (The Snack World, Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katori no Nazotoki File) and character designs by Eiji Abiko.

In addition, the voice actors are:

  • Junya Enoki as Blood Cell (Erythrocyte),
  • Yōko Hikasa as White Blood Cell (Neutrophil),
  • Kenjiro Tsuda narrating

The story of Cells at Work! takes place inside the body of someone who drinks and smokes, experiencing high stress and cholesterol, as well as their cells struggling to fulfill their duties, and the possibility of cell death being a daily reality.

Therefore, Aniplex has confirmed that in addition to this spinoff, a second season will also be adapted, arriving in January 2021.
