How about learning about the main anime ? The number of fans of Japanese culture has been growing significantly in recent years, especially in the geek segment—including anime, manga , and games. However, many questions also arise regarding these works, such as: do you know the difference between OVA, ONA, and OAD ? So, we've compiled the main ones to answer your questions on the subject. Now, without further ado, let's get to the list:
Check out the meaning of OVA, OAD and ONA in anime

OVA – Original Video Anime: Firstly, the OVA is characterized by being exclusively on DVDs/Blu-Ray, that is, they are not broadcast on TV. In addition, they are episodes that are not part of the original story of the Anime, and can delve into a certain plot of the work or be something completely different from the original plot.
OAD – Original Animation DVD: Basically, it has the same features as the OVA. However, with the added bonus of being bundled with a manga or game! An example of this would be volume 12 of the manga To Love-Ru: Darkness, which came with a DVD.
ONA – Original Net Animation: Here, these are released exclusively on streaming platforms, such as Crunchyroll or Funimation, which are the official platforms in Brazil. The episode may appear on TV if the broadcaster buys it, but it's usually only available online.
Main Anime Terms
Spin-offs: These are derivatives of a work. In other words, they essentially use traits from a specific anime, such as powers and world characteristics. And because they're like a parallel or alternate universe, it's very common for spin-off characters to not be the usual protagonists of the original work.
PV – Promotional Video: This is a short video, usually 30 seconds long. Often shown on television or at an event, often to announce the new season of an anime.
TRAILER: Now you might ask what the difference is between a PV and a trailer. But basically, a trailer is about 3 minutes long and shows a lot of footage from the film, potentially even giving fans spoilers.
TEASER : However, in addition to PVs and Trailers, we have Teasers, which are classified as a middle ground between the two above. This is because Teasers are about 30 seconds to 1 minute long. On the other hand, they show several previously unseen scenes, but in an enigmatic way, without giving anything away to fans, just teasing them.
