In episode 11, Jiji returns to Momo's house to seek Seiko's help in an attempt to rid it of an evil spirit haunting his residence. It is at this point that the series begins the thrilling Haunted House Arc.
Jiji first appeared in the anime in a flashback in the opening episode, as one of the boys who bullied Momo. Furthermore, he has a special connection to the protagonist: he was her first childhood crush, though he never knew it. Unfortunately, the two lost contact when Jiji moved away, making this reunion even more significant to the plot.

Synopsis:
The anime Dandadan tells the story of a nerd who faces spirits and aliens vying for his "family heirloom." And who better to help him than his high school crush and a spiritual grandma?! Momo Ayase and Okarun disagree about the paranormal. But in this quest to prove who's wrong, secret passions and paranormal battles emerge! Momo befriends Okarun, a UFO fanatic at school. While Momo believes in spirits, Okarun thinks the opposite. To resolve their differences, they decide to visit a UFO hotspot and a haunted tunnel!
Finally, DanDaDan is based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. It has been serialized on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ app and website since April 2021.
