The NTV released two promotional videos for the live-action series Death Note. According to reports, the series has a completely original story.

Kento Yamazaki (L-DK, Mare) will play the protagonist L, while Light Yagami will be played by Masataka Kubota, Akira Kiyosato from the live-action Rurouni Kenshin film. Rounding out the trio, Mio Yuki (Assassination Classroom) will play Near.
Finally, the story is completely original, and the series premieres on July 5th in Japan.
