Demon Slayer – Anime surpasses Oshi no Ko on streaming services

The latest research results from the GEM Partners revealed that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is currently the most-watched anime on Japanese streaming services. The series has now surpassed Oshi no Ko , which held the top spot for four consecutive weeks.

GEM Partners is a Japanese website that rates the most-watched anime on Japanese streaming services. According to the latest survey, Demon Slayer rose in the rankings, increasing from 237 votes to 262 this week. On the other hand, Oshi no Ko fell to second place with a drop from 181 votes to 173.

This survey was conducted with 7,000 Japanese people aged 15 to 69 between May 27th and June 2nd. Demon Slayer, Oshi no Ko, and Detective Conan have been in the top 3 of the list for a whole month.

Synopsis:

After defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro must travel to the Blacksmith Village to forge a new sword, as his old one has been damaged. However, along the way, he encounters new demons sent by Muzan, the main villain, with a mission to kill the blacksmiths. Without the blacksmiths, the hunters will have no swords to fight the demons. So Tanjiro and his friends must fight the demons of the Upper Moons again to stop them.

Thus, the first season of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019 , becoming a hit with the film. The second season premiered on December 5, 2021, in Japan. Finally, the third season premiered on Crunchyroll following the release of the film To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
