The anime fan page Mario ran a poll last week, asking its followers who the best protagonist of the new generation of anime is. The poll received over 65,000 votes, with Tanjiro Kamado from Demon Slayer as the winner. The voting list also included protagonists from Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, My Hero Academia, Black Clover, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Right after Tanjiro, Asta came in second.
Synopsis:
After defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro must travel to the Blacksmith Village to forge a new sword, as his old one has been damaged. However, along the way, he encounters new demons sent by Muzan, the main villain, with a mission to kill the blacksmiths. Without the blacksmiths, the hunters will have no swords to fight the demons. So Tanjiro and his friends must fight the demons of the Upper Moons again to stop them.
Thus, the first season of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019 , becoming a hit with the film. The second season premiered on December 5, 2021, in Japan. Finally, the third season premiered on Crunchyroll following the release of the film To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
