Ever since she turned into a demon, Nezuko Kamado has always had to avoid sunlight to avoid being burned. However, in the final episode of the 3rd season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba , Nezuko managed to avoid death, overcoming her weakness to sunlight.

While Tanjiro was chasing Upper Moon 4, the sun began to rise, exposing Nezuko. Clearly, being a demon, her skin began to burn, so her brother became desperate, unable to decide between saving her or the civilians who were about to die.
Nezuko's immunity to the sun
Nezuko agreed to die so that Tanjiro could save the other humans. However, she surprised everyone in the end by being able to walk on sunlight. In this way, she became the demon chosen by the sun that Muzan has been searching for for many years. The series didn't explicitly explain how Nezuko became immune to sunlight, but it seems to be a special mutation that only she was able to acquire.
Synopsis of Demon Slayer
After defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro needs to go to the blacksmith village to forge a new sword, since his old weapon was damaged. However, on the way, he encounters new demons sent by Muzan, the main villain of the story, with the mission of killing the blacksmiths. Without the blacksmiths, the demon slayers will have no swords to fight the demons. So Tanjiro and his friends must fight the Upper Moon demons again to stop them.
Thus, the first season of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019 , becoming a successful phenomenon with the movie. The second season premiered on December 5 , 2021 in Japan. Finally, the third season premiered on Crunchyroll after the release of the movie To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
