It was revealed from the cover of the seventh volume of the manga The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan that the anime is scheduled to air in 2015.
The project was approved and announced in December 2013. There is no news about the animation studio responsible for the project.
The spinoff, created by Puyo and based on the Haruhi Suzumiya Light Novels by Nagaru Tanigawa, has a less in-depth story focusing on Espers, aliens, and time travelers, as Yuki will be a normal girl trying to save her beloved literature club with Kyon's help.
