Therefore, Super Saiyan 4 is easily one of Goku and Vegeta's most iconic transformations, and now is the perfect time to make it officially canon. Because Dragon Ball Daima has been introducing new stories that expand on previous entries in the franchise or contradict them in some way, Dragon Ball Daima has a perfect opportunity to make Super Saiyan 4 officially canon .
How could the world of Dragon Ball Daima create the epic Super Saiyan 4?
Initially, Dragon Ball Daima could be the perfect way for Super Saiyan 4 to become canon, and there are a few ways to make that happen. For starters, an early episode of Daima saw Goku buying magical insects that activate various effects when consumed, with some having the power to fuse people and others acting as a substitute for Senzu Beans. Based on this, Dragon Ball Daima could introduce Super Saiyan 4 as a side effect of one of the insects, which would fit very well into the overall aesthetic of the series.
On the other hand, another possibility lies in the Dragon Balls of the Demon Realm. The Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero manga showed people using the Dragon Balls to become stronger and gain new transformations, so this means that Super Saiyan 4 could emerge from someone using them to make Goku or Vegeta stronger .
Making Super Saiyan 4 canon would also make sense from a meta-perspective. Whether intentional or accidental, much of Dragon Ball Daima has been reworking the Dragon Ball GT in a more coherent and fun way, so with that in mind, Dragon Ball Daima could make Super Saiyan 4 canon to continue the idea of Daima being a reboot of Dragon Ball GT . Daima GT formula so far, and bringing in Super Saiyan 4 would be the perfect way to fully sell that point.
Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta is the perfect excuse for Super Saiyan 4 to be canon
The easiest way to make Super Saiyan 4 canon, of course, is through the series' handling of Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta. Episode 12 shocked the world not only by giving Vegeta Super Saiyan 3, but by revealing that he had already unlocked it sometime after the Buu saga, despite never using it in Dragon Ball Super. Therefore, Dragon Ball Daima could introduce Super Saiyan 4 by making it something Goku learned off-screen !
The fact that Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta exists sets up Super Saiyan 4 Goku in a different way, of course. Goku's rivalry with Vegeta always pushes him to get stronger, so now that Goku knows Vegeta has somehow reached his power level, Goku could develop Super Saiyan 4 as a means of staying one step ahead of Vegeta .
Dragon Ball Super makes it difficult for Dragon Ball Daima to introduce Super Saiyan 4
Although it would have been easy for the series to introduce Super Saiyan 4, Dragon Ball Super ends up presenting a problem. Super Saiyan 3 was portrayed as Goku's strongest form before Super Saiyan God. Because of this, Dragon Ball Daima may not be able to introduce Super Saiyan 4 without drastically contradicting Dragon Ball Super .
Ultimately, it all depends heavily on how the franchise is handled going forward. Even with the recent death of Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball will continue in some form. Therefore, whoever is put in charge of the Dragon Ball from now on will ideally have a good way to maintain Super Saiyan 4 , while justifying its absence in Dragon Ball Super . All of this is hypothetical, of course, but regardless, if Dragon Ball Daima introduces Super Saiyan 4, it would be great to see.
