Dragon Ball Z continues to surprise fans, and this time we're introduced to the new Red Shenron. With revelations like Vegeta's Super Saiyan 3 Super Saiyan 4 , and the true origins of the Namekians, the series still has some big moments in store in its final two episodes.

The most recent of them paid homage to one of the saga's "ugly ducklings": a new Ultimate Shenron was summoned in the Demon World, and its design refers to both Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Z.

In the episode, Glorio and Dr. Arinsu manage to summon the Eternal Dragon of the Demon Realm, which strongly resembles Porunga, the Dragon of Namek. Unlike Shenron, Porunga not only had a unique appearance, but could also grant three wishes instead of just one. Thus, the dragon of the underworld in Daima features a reimagining of this design, but with a special twist: a red aesthetic, which also clearly references Dragon Ball GT .

In Dragon Ball GT , the Red Dragon (Ultimate Shenron) emerged from the Black Star Dragon Balls, transforming Goku into a child due to a wish made by Pilaf and his gang. Now, in Daima , the purpose of the wish made to the Demon Realm Dragon remains a mystery. Although Glorio has fought alongside the Z Fighters from the beginning, his loyalty to Dr. Arinsu raises suspicions. With the next episode titled " Betrayal ," it seems the demon warrior may have burned his bridges with Goku and his friends. Will the Red Dragon be able to reverse the situation?

The creator of the new dragon and the future of the series

However, the Dragon of the Demon Realm created by Neva , a Namekian with powers beyond anything seen in the franchise. Responsible for granting Goku the Super Saiyan 4 transformation, Neva remains an enigma, and his ultimate fate remains uncertain. With Dragon Ball Super returning in February, will he make an appearance in the sequel?

A canonical homage to Dragon Ball GT

Dragon Ball producer Akio Iyoku revealed that Daima is a "love letter" to Dragon Ball GT , incorporating elements from the spin-off into the current canon. He stated:

We wanted to create an anime that parents and children could watch together. The generation that grew up with Dragon Ball GT now has children, and that was an inspiration for us.
