After an indefinite year-long hiatus, Dragon Ball Super fans have finally received official confirmation about the future of the series. Although chapter 105 still doesn't have a release date, new statements from Toyotarō and the franchise's official website make it clear that the manga is far from over.

Toyotarō emphasizes that the story continues

In celebration of the 100th edition of the illustration series “Toyotarō Tries to Draw”, the artist presented a drawing of an elderly Goku based on artwork created by Akira Toriyama in 1989. At the time, Toriyama was joking about when Dragon Ball would end and imagining what the protagonist would be like in the future.

Commenting on the tribute, Toyotarō emphasized that the question remains unanswered. According to the author, even 37 years after the original publication, "the end of Dragon Ball is not yet in sight." The statement was interpreted as a direct confirmation that the manga will continue to receive new chapters.

Website classifies Dragon Ball Super as an ongoing series

In addition to Toyotarō 's words , the official Dragon Ball website itself described Dragon Ball Super as an "ongoing series." The text also mentions that characters introduced throughout the story may play important roles in the future, including the older version of Goku shown in the commemorative illustration.

The confirmation puts an end to speculation about a possible cancellation following Akira Toriyama's death. Although publication has been paused since March 2025, the continuation of the work has been officially acknowledged.

For now, we must wait for news about the highly anticipated chapter 105. Meanwhile, the message left by Toyotarō is clear: Goku's journey still has many chapters ahead. Finally, keep following AnimeNews for more news about anime, manga, and upcoming seasons in Japan.
