Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will have a delayed release

Toei announced today that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero , the second film Dragon Ball Super franchise , has been delayed due to a hack attack on Toei Animation. Toei apologized to fans who were eagerly awaiting the film's release .

The film was scheduled to premiere in Japan on April 22. The release schedule may vary depending on each country and region.

Akira Toriyama is in charge of the script and character designs. He was already working on the script while the previous film, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, was still in production. Toriyama shared the following message to fans:

Just like the previous film, I'm heavily leading the story and dialogue production for another incredible film. I shouldn't really say too much about the plot just yet, but be prepared for some extreme and entertaining fights, which may feature an unexpected character. Planning for the new film began in 2018, before the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly. The film aims to tell "a story on a grand scale." In addition to story composition and character design, Toriyama is also writing dialogue for the film.

Ultimately Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will be the 21st installment in the  Dragon Ball anime overall.
