The profile @Soukatsu_ translated and shared a comment Eiichiro Oda made regarding his colleague Gege Akutami. Like Oda, Akutami was a judge for the Tezuka Manga Award, where the two manga artists first met. After a proper conversation, Oda praised Akutami, calling his colleague a trustworthy and good-natured person.

“I was able to speak properly with Akutami-san on the Tezuka Prize judging committee for the first time. What a trustworthy person! A person of character.”

Anyway, in this Tezuka Manga Award committee, Oda and Akutami were judges alongside Akira Toriyama (the creator of Dragon Ball), Kazue Kato (the creator of Blue Exorcist), Kōhei Horikoshi (the creator of My Hero Academia) and Nobuhiro Nishiwaki (the creator of Samurai X).

Synopsis:

The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a rubber body after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (the Rubber Fruit). Inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Red-Haired Shanks, Luffy became a pirate and set sail on a journey across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the Pirate King.
