Young Japanese people choose Oshi no Ko as the best anime of the first half of 2023

The Japanese magazine PASH! conducted a survey among its readers to find out which anime releases were their favorites in the first half of this year. Shortly after the survey was completed, the magazine published a list of the 10 most popular anime among Japanese readers, with Oshi no Ko in first place.

In this survey, the magazine selected Japanese people aged 16 to 22 in May to focus more on the opinions of young audiences. They all shared their favorite anime releases of 2023 so far, and Oshi no Ko emerged as the best anime of the semester. However, other famous releases also topped the list, such as Demon Slayer and Tokyo Revengers.

  5. Mashle: Magic and Muscles

Synopsis:

The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old idol named Ai Hoshino . One day, Hoshino appears at his office, claiming to be pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. However, the idol refuses to abort; she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his premature death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in the arms of his beloved idol, Gorou discovers he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino , Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.

Finally , Akasaka and Yokoyari launched the manga in Shueisha 's Young Jump in 2020. Volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
