The Madhouse studio will return to produce the animated cutscene sequences for the game. The game will be a remake of the classic Etrian Odyssey II:Heroes of Lagaard , which was released for the Nintendo DS in 2008. Atlus previously had remade the original Etrian Odyssey with Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl in 2013.
