Japan's Film Classification and Classification Organization (Eirin) briefly posted about Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time in its list of screened films, although the film's January 18 entry was no longer on the list as of the evening of Tuesday.
The film will be two hours and 34 minutes long and rated G (free for all audiences). The previous three films in the current tetralogy were also G-rated.

Anime studio Khara posted on Twitter in October formally denying that the final film would be six hours long, after people misinterpreted a previously posted screenshot.
Additionally, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 was scheduled to premiere on January 23, but staff reported that they are postponing the film again out of consideration for the new state of emergency declared in Japan on January 8. Furthermore, the film had previously been postponed due to COVID-19 . The film was originally scheduled to open in Japan on June 27, 2020.
Hikaru Utada returns to perform the theme song “One Last Kiss” for the film.
Finally, the first three films in the tetralogy, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, premiered in 2007, 2009 and 2012, respectively.
