Paul Walker Fast and Furious 7's death Universal Pictures executives held an emergency meeting to decide what will happen with the filming of Fast & Furious 7. According to The Wrap, the filmmakers are considering restarting production from scratch.

Since the $200 million production was being developed under insurance, as is standard practice in Hollywood in case of unforeseen circumstances, Universal wouldn't lose much financially if it decided to reshoot everything. About 50% of Fast & Furious 7 has already been filmed, but a good portion of Walker's scenes still needed to be shot.

The option of scrapping Walker's character is not being considered, nor is the potential use of computer graphics to digitally recreate the actor's face, a source told the website. A final decision could still take days or weeks to be made.

The feature film was on hiatus due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, and the crew was supposed to return to work at the beginning of the week in Atlanta. Now filming is suspended indefinitely. Walker was reprising his role as Brian O'Conner in Fast & Furious 7, a film scheduled for release on July 11, 2014.

Meanwhile, Universal announced that it will donate a portion of the profits from the DVD and Blu-ray of Fast & Furious 6 – scheduled for release on December 10th in the US – to Walker's Reach Out Worldwide
