The March volume of Kodansha's Good ! Afternoon magazine published the final chapter of Gamon Sakurai 's Ajin: Demi-Human this Friday. The manga's 17th and final volume arrives on May 7.
The manga had already reached its climax on January 7th.
Synopsis
The story follows a student named Kei Nagai, who discovers he is an "Ajin" after being hit by a truck. "Ajin" are people endowed with extreme powers of recovery and regeneration, considered immortal. Seventeen years ago, they first appeared on a battlefield in Africa. Since then, more of their kind have been discovered within human society. Consequently, they are viewed as inhuman creatures and dangerous to humanity, being persecuted and captured by the government.
Additionally, Sakurai launched the manga in Kodansha 's Good! Afternoon magazine in 2012, serializing it for 10 years and totaling 17 volumes. Crunchyroll posts new chapters of the manga, while Kodansha publishes them in Japan.
Furthermore, the manga gained a trilogy of 3D CG OVA films, namely Ajin Shoudou in 2015, Ajin Shoutotsu in May 2016, and Ajin Shougeki in September 2016. The films were produced by TOHO Animation Polygon Pictures studio . Furthermore, the anime adaptation of Ajin premiered in January 2016, airing for two cours until December. It was licensed by Netflix Polygon Pictures studio , with two seasons of 13 episodes.
Finally, in September 2017, Ajin: Demi-Human received a live-action adaptation directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro.
