Following the intense battle between Satoru Gojo and Sukuna Jujutsu Kaisen fans are finally getting answers. In a Q&A session, Gege Akutami , the creator of the series, revealed previously unknown details explaining Gojo's defeat and indicating which characters could truly defeat the King of Curses.
According to Gege, only two sorcerers had a real chance of defeating Sukuna during the confrontation in Shinjuku. The first, as many already suspected, was Gojo Satoru . According to the author, Gojo was close to winning, but was eliminated from the story for being "too strong" and because the script still needed Sukuna for longer. Gege confirmed that Sukuna himself acknowledged that Gojo could defeat him.
The second name surprises some fans: Hajime Kashimo . Even with less prominence, his power—the cursed technique Mythical Beast Amber —put Sukuna against the wall, with attacks impossible to avoid, even at the cost of his own life. In his weakened form within Megumi's body, Sukuna would have lost to Kashimo if the fight had continued.
Other characters like Yuta , Higuruma , and Yuji Itadori also had opportunities for victory, but always in scenarios of cooperation and strategy. Even so, it was Yuji who ultimately defeated Sukuna, solidifying his central role in the plot.
