HoYoverse has officially announced the banners for Genshin Impact version 5.8, bringing a mix of exciting new features and the return of beloved characters. The update arrives on July 30th and marks the farewell of Natlan before the arrival of the new region, Nod-Krai.
- Genshin Impact 5.8: Live codes and how to redeem them
- Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot receives DLC based on Daima
With two scheduled cycles, the banners bring together five-star characters from different elements and playstyles. The main debut is Ineffa, a new Electro from Nod-Krai who promises innovative mechanics on the battlefield. In addition, highly anticipated reruns return in this version, offering good options for various types of team compositions.

Phase 1: Ineffa debuts with unprecedented mechanics and Citlali returns
The first half of the update will be available starting July 30, 2025. During this period, players will be able to summon two five-star characters:
- Ineffa (Electro – Lança)
- Citlali (Cryo – Catalyst)
Ineffa is the big new addition to the early stage. Representing Nod-Krai, she introduces a new elemental reaction called Lunar-Charged, a variation of Electro-Charged. This effect allows for more predictable critical hits, opening up opportunities for more efficient offensive strategies. Furthermore, her kit was developed for players seeking synergy with Hydro and Electro characters, expanding composition possibilities.
Citlali is making its first rerun since its debut. Focusing on reactions like Melt and Freeze, it particularly excels on teams that use Arlecchino or Mavuika as their main DPS. Thus, Citlali's presence reinforces its appeal for players who prioritize board control and strategies based on Cryo reactions.

Phase 2: Chasca and Mualani receive their first reruns
The second phase of version 5.8 will be activated on August 19, 2025. In this phase, two five-star characters will return:
- Chasca (Anemo – Arco)
- Mualani (Hydro – Catalyst)
Chasca is an Anemo DPS who also offers a unique vertical exploration ability, making it easier to navigate higher terrain. Her agile gameplay and area control make her an excellent choice for players who enjoy mobility and dynamic combat.
Mualani, in turn, is one of the most consistent Hydro DPS in the game. Besides dealing high sustained damage on the field, she possesses an exploration ability that allows her to surf on water, making her ideal for players who value practicality and efficiency in traversing maps. Both represent the core of Natlan and are solid options to strengthen the account.

Is it worth investing in these banners?
Version 5.8 offers exciting opportunities for both new and veteran players. Ineffa stands out for its unique combat system, while the rerun characters offer solidity across different roles and playstyles.
However, with Nod-Krai approaching, the next version is expected to introduce even more powerful units, with new reactions and mechanics. Therefore, the decision to invest now or save Primogems will depend on each player's playstyle and priorities.
