The official website for Toei Animation's original anime 'Girls Band Cry' revealed two new music videos, a promotional art, main voice actors and staff on Monday (29).

The two new music videos showcase the songs “Nameless Name” (“Na mo Naki Nanimo Kamo”, in the first video below) and “No Rhyme nor Reason” (“Itsuwari no Kotowari”, second video below) by the band Togenashi Togeari.

Cast members include:

  • Rina as Nina Iseri
  • Yuri as Momoka Kawaragi
  • I aimed like Subaru Awa
  • Natsu as Tomo Ebizuka
  • Syuri as Rupa

Kazuo Sakai (Long Live Love! Sunshine!!, Mushi-Uta) is directing the anime at Toei Animation. Nari Teshima is designing the characters. Mari Kondō and Jae Hoon Jung are the CGI directors. Kenji Tamai (agehasprings, Sing "Yesterday" for Me, Samurai Flamenco) is composing the music.

Toei Animation is perhaps best known for its work on long-running anime series, such as the annual magical girl series Pretty Cure, One Piece, and classics like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya, and Slam Dunk. Some of its more recent works include Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure and Tōsōchū: The Great Mission.

Synopsis

The main character drops out of high school in her second year and plans to go to university while working alone in Tokyo. One girl is betrayed by her friends and doesn't know what to do. Another girl is abandoned by her parents and tries to survive in the city by working part-time jobs. This world disappoints us constantly. Nothing goes as planned. But we want something we can continue to enjoy. We believe there's a place where we belong. That's why we sing.
