The official website for the anime of Natsuki Kizu's Given manga began streaming a new promotional video this Thursday (30). The video introduces the character Haruki Nakayama (voiced by Masatomo Nakazawa).
The series will premiere on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block in July. The anime will be the “first anime based on a yaoi manga to be broadcast on Noitamina.
As for the cast of the anime, we have: Shougo Yano as Mafuyu Sato (guitarist and vocalist), Yuma Uchida as Ritsuka Uenoyam (guitarist), Masatomo Nakazawa as Haruki Nakayama (bassist) and Takuya Eguchi as Akihiko Kaji (drummer).
Hikaru Yamaguchi (director of Escha Chron, episode director of Mr. Osomatsu, Battle Spirits Double Drive) is directing the anime at studio Lerche. Yuniko Ayana (BanG Dream! both seasons, Girls Beyond the Wasteland) is supervising the series' scripts.
The story revolves around Ritsuka, who plays the guitar, but has lost interest in the instrument. One day, he meets Mafuyu, who is holding a broken guitar. Ritsuka starts teaching Mafuyu, but when he hears Mafuyu's voice, things suddenly start to change for Ritsuka.
This anime adapts the manga Given by Natsuki Kizu, a yaoi manga that has been published in Cheri + magazine by publisher Shinshokan since 2013. To date, the work has five volumes in Japan and continues to be published in the magazine.
