Since the beginning of Goku and Vegeta Dragon Ball universe has evolved. The young man went from being a simple fighter to reaching impressive levels such as Super Saiyans 3 , Super Saiyans God , Super Saiyans Blue and even Ultra Instinct .

Now, with Dragon Ball Z set between the events of Z and Super , the characters have suffered a major setback: they were transformed into children due to a dark desire. While the anime offers interesting twists, it faces a critical problem: the characters' power levels

The History of Power Levels in Dragon Ball

At the beginning of the franchise, during the classic Dragon Ball series , power levels were quite modest. Even so, characters like Goku and Piccolo were already capable of destroying entire cities with energy attacks, without the need for transformations. In Dragon Ball Z , especially the Frieza Saga, power figures exploded, reaching levels impossible to calculate. However, in Daima , the lack of clear numbers didn't stop fans from questioning Goku and Vegeta's current strength.

In Dragon Ball Z: Daima , we saw Goku and Vegeta reach the Super Saiyan 1 and 2 levels, with Vegeta even revealing his Super Saiyan 3 transformation for the first time. These forms were enough to defeat two of the three Tamagami and retrieve the Dragon Balls from the Demon Realm. However, in episode 15, the situation changes drastically. The Z Fighters are attacked by Gomah's troops, with Vegeta nearly killed by a simple energy weapon blast. This scenario is hard to believe, considering the power they must still possess.

Even with childlike bodies and the Demon Realm's gravity limiting their abilities, Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo remain formidable forces. Characters with much lower power levels, like Nappa, could easily destroy cities, while Vegeta, with a power of 18,000, could obliterate planets. In Daima , the Z-Fighters faced enemies capable of defeating Dabura, an opponent equivalent to Gohan at the Super Saiyan 2 level. Therefore, it's incongruous that ordinary soldiers pose a real threat to them.

Will the anime be able to justify this inconsistency before the end? For more news and updates on the Dragon Ball , keep following AnimeNew !
