The Golden Joystick Awards, one of the most important awards in the gaming world, announced the 2024 winners, celebrating titles that have marked the industry. The highlight was "Black Myth: Wukong,"chosen as Game of the Year. Highlights from the Golden Joystick Awards

“Helldivers 2” dominates multiple categories

Among the big winners of the night, “Helldivers 2” shone in three categories: Best Multiplayer Game, Console Game of the Year , and the prestigious Critics' Choice Award. The combination of tactical cooperation and engaging gameplay secured recognition from both the audience and the jury.

Furthermore, the award for Best Soundtrack went to “Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth”, which also took home the award for Best Story. These accolades reinforce the impact of the narrative and musical production on the immersive experience offered by the game.

A tribute to independent artists and creative design

In the indie scene, “Another Crab's Treasure” stood out as the Best Self-Published Indie Game, while “Balatro” received two awards: Best Indie Game and the Revelation from critics. These successes demonstrate the strength of independent studios in offering creative and memorable projects.

The award for Best Visual Design went to “Black Myth: Wukong”, which continues to impress with its graphic quality and innovative use of technology to bring to life a universe inspired by Chinese mythology.

Technical recognition and long-standing track record

The hardware category also stood out, with the Steam Deck OLED being chosen as the Best Gaming Device. In the expansions category, the highly anticipated "Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree" was recognized as the Best Expansion, solidifying the lasting impact of the original game.
