The Good Smile Company has announced the temporary suspension of shipments of its figures to the United States from its online store, following the decision by JapanPostto discontinue certain international services. The measure will take effect on August 27, 2025.

The decision is linked to the US government's executive order, released in July, which ended de minimis treatment for imports. This means that, starting August 29th, products for personal use will no longer enter the US tariff-free. In addition, US Customs and Border Protection has implemented new requirements for customs declarations and deposits, but details on their application are still unclear.

In response, Japan Post suspended the shipment of small packages, parcels, and EMS services destined for the United States. Only letters, documents, and gifts up to US$100 continue to be accepted.

Regions affected by the suspension of Good Smile

The suspension covers all of the United States, including overseas territories. Good Smile Company stated that it is exploring alternative shipping methods to resume services as soon as possible. The company assured that further updates will be released as soon as a viable solution is found to normalize shipments.

Meanwhile, American consumers will need to wait until the company adapts its logistics to comply with the changes imposed by US authorities.
