GoW: Ascension reportedly cost $50 million to make

If the sales forecast for God of War: Ascension made by a market analyst wasn't already enough to make us think that the franchise could undergo a reformulation, things got much worse after an interview given by Whitney Wade, producer boss of the Ghost of Sparta's last adventure. During the conversation, the boy revealed that the title cost US$50 million to produce, an amount that is still far from what is estimated to be spent to develop a Grand Theft Auto, but which would be on the same level as a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, however, without the slightest indication that it will do as well commercially as Activision's FPS. Wade did not make it clear whether this amount includes publicity, but as in some cases marketing ends up consuming much more money than the development itself, we can imagine that the loss could have been much greater. Given this scenario, fans forgive me, but in the end, maybe it's good that Kratos is going through difficulties. If the people at Santa Monica Studio are smart, they can take advantage of this situation to take a break from the franchise and dedicate themselves to other creations. So, in a few years, when new ideas emerge and we have time to build anticipation for a new game, they can come back with a God of War that actually brings some innovation and not just a button-mashing fest.
