Rockstar Games has once again proven the power of the Grand Theft Auto franchise with the resounding success of the second GTA 6 trailer. The trailer reached over 470 million views in 24 hours on YouTube, social media and specialized websites after its release on Tuesday (6). This number not only consolidates the game as a global phenomenon, but also puts it above any other recent release in entertainment.

The previous record in the gaming segment belonged to the first trailer for GTA 6, which in November 2023 registered 93 million views on its first day, an already impressive number, but one that has been largely surpassed. Furthermore, the new trailer surpassed big-budget cinematic productions such as Deadpool & Wolverine (365 million) and Fantastic Four: First Steps (200 million), highlighting the dominance of games in pop culture.

Multiplatform distribution boosted reach

Unlike the strategy adopted in the first trailer, Rockstar did not limit its release to YouTube. This time, the video was launched simultaneously on networks such as Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and even streaming platforms, ensuring immediate access to diverse audiences. This approach amplified the impact, reaching not only game fans but also casual viewers and even investors.

The decision to expand distribution reinforced the hype surrounding the game, proving that the anticipation for GTA 6 goes far beyond the gaming niche. Analysts point out that the activity on social media and the media coverage contributed to the record number, solidifying the trailer as one of the biggest digital entertainment events in history.

Retro soundtrack gets a new lease on life

Another highlight was the choice of the song "Love Together" by The Pointer Sisters, which accompanied the trailer. The classic 80s track saw a 182,000% increase in plays on Spotify after its release, showing once again how GTA influences musical culture. Spotify highlighted in a statement that the franchise has a history of revitalizing old hits, connecting generations of players.

Real gameplay and confirmed release for 2026

Rockstar captured all the trailer footage on PlayStation 5, combining cinematic sequences with real gameplay. The game will also have a version for Xbox Series X|S, with a release date set for May 26, 2026. With ultra-realistic graphics and a promising narrative, GTA 6 promises to raise the bar even higher in the industry.
