Mobile Suit Gundam fans : The June 2025 issue of Kadokawa's Gundam Ace manga in the franchise. Titled Mobile Suit Gundam Eight ( Kidō Senshi Gundam Eight ), the work features a narrative in an alternate universe, with new characters and a completely new setting.

The creation of the series is in the hands of two industry veterans. Hajime Kamoshida , screenwriter of Iron-Blooded Orphans and creator of Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai , is handling the story. The art will be done by Shuuei Takagi , who recently finished the Gundam: Code Fairy .
Therefore, the story takes place in the year 2030 , on a devastated Earth. Humanity is on the brink of extinction, with only 258 survivors and one last Gundam remaining. With this setting, the authors promise an intense plot, full of drama, political conflicts, and emotional dilemmas.
Gundam Ace magazine had already commented on the project as part of the publication's 20th-anniversary celebrations. At the time, it was revealed that the manga would have a similar tone to Gundam 00 , but with a different setting from works like Gundam: The Origin and Gundam UC .
After nearly four years of anticipation, fans finally received the official title and confirmation of the serialization.
