On Wednesday (the 10th), MyAnimeList was indeed hacked, and the site remains under maintenance to fix the problem. Before the site went into maintenance, some users realized the cause of the alarm. As the screenshot shows, the hacker changed the anime's name to " LET'S ALL LOVE LAIN ," which means "Let's all love Lain."
This message directly refers to Lain Iwakura , the protagonist of the anime/manga Serial Experiments Lain . Furthermore, site visitors noticed that the ratings for this anime had been altered to give higher points. In other words, the hacker essentially tampered with MyAnimeList to favor Serial Experiments Lain, which appears to be their favorite anime.
