Rumors of a 5th season of the anime High School DxD have surfaced on the internet, following the success of its recent season, Hero (Studio Passione).
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, the series could have had some concrete new developments.

The author discusses the possibility of a 5th season:
Updated: In October 2020, Ichiei Ishibumi (author of the High School DxD light novels ) made some posts about the release of the first volume of the novel in English, asking fans to support and buy it, as this support could lead to a 5th season adapted into an anime of his work.
For foreign fans who want a new animation, the best support is to get the officially published translated version of the original novel, so acquire it at this opportunity, when the English translation is released…”
Regarding the adaptation of the 'Hero Oppai Dragon' arc:
Director Yoshifumi Sueda has enough material from the manga that can easily be adapted, as is the case with the Hero Oppai Dragon arc, which began in the fourth season of the High School DxD Hero , covering volumes 9 and 10 of the light novel , leaving volumes 11 and 12 to be adapted. The anime has always closely followed the manga, so it's safe to assume that High School DxD 5 will follow those volumes.
So, last year at the Anime Expo 2019 , producer Satoshi was asked about the next season of the series, and he replied: [Laughs] I want to, but not now.
When will the fifth season of High School DxD be released?
Finally, rumors suggest that the anime announcement could come in 2021.
