In the main cast, Manaka Nakayama plays Danko Ichigeki, while Kaori Maeda voices Chinko Kobotoke. Akira Sekine, Yō Taichi and Yū Sasahara complete the main group. Noriko Hidaka returns as Danpei in the past scenes and also serves as the narrator.
The story serves as a direct sequel to Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei , a classic manga by Tetsuhiro Koshita. This time, the focus shifts to Danko, Danpei's daughter, who seeks to assemble the strongest dodgeball team of the Reiwa era.

The series is directed by Hiroshi Ikehata at Studio CUE, while Kazuho Hyōdō supervises the scripts. Character designs are by Narihito Sekikawa, who also serves as chief animation director.
Therefore, the original manga was published between 1989 and 1995 in Shogakukan's Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine. The work had 18 volumes and inspired an anime that aired between 1991 and 1992 with 47 episodes.
The Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko began in 2022 on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic . Currently, the series has six volumes published in Japan, solidifying the new generation of the franchise.
