In 2021, produced by CloverWorks , Horimiya received its first anime, adapting the manga illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara and supervised by ( Hiroki Adachi ) HERO , the creator of the work. The anime ran for 12 episodes and amassed a large fan base, but it did not adapt the entire story of the manga. Therefore, this year, CloverWorks released Horimiya: The Missing Pieces to adapt the missing parts.

Synopsis:
Kyouko Hori is a super outgoing high school girl who's popular in her class, but she's a completely different person outside of school. While her parents aren't home, she cares for her younger brother and takes on the role of housewife. Meanwhile, her classmate Izumi Miyamura is an introverted boy who also leads a double life. While he's away from school, Miyamura wears a more flashy style and shows off his tattoos. When the two meet unexpectedly, they begin to develop an unlikely friendship. As they grow closer, this friendship blossoms into a strong and genuine passion.
