The official website Hybrid Child anime , based on Shungiku Nakamura's manga, has released a new commercial. The video features the theme song "Syncretism" by singer Annabel.
The Hybrid Child manga will be adapted into one of four episodes in OVA (Original Video Animation) format. The first volume will contain the first episode, which will be released directly on DVD and Blu-ray on October 29th. The second volume will be released on November 26th, the third on December 24th, and the fourth on January 28th, 2015.
The animation is being handled by Studio Deen (Bleach, CANAAN), the direction is by Michio Fukuda (responsible for Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan: Demon Capital, Hyakko), the script is by Aki Itami (Mushi-Shi, The Comic Artist and His Assistants), and the character design is by Takahiro Kishida, who also worked on Madoka Magica and Haikyu!!.
Seiji Biblos originally serialized the manga in Be x Boy Gold magazine from 2003 to 2004, and Kadokawa Shoten later published the manga in one volume in 2008. Digital Manga Publishing released the manga in North America. The manga has already inspired a CD drama adaptation with a different cast than this anime.
