The anime I Made Friends With the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class (Kurasu de Ni-ban Me ni Kawaii Onna no Ko to Tomodachi ni Natta, lit.) released its third promotional video along with new names for the adaptation's cast. The trailer also highlights the song "Hi no Ataru Kotoba" by the band reGretGirl, released in 2025 as part of the series' soundtrack.

The series premiered on April 7th on Tokyo MX and Kansai TV, later airing on BS Asahi. Additionally, Crunchyroll is streaming the episodes simultaneously. The anime adapts the light novel written by Takata, originally published on Kakuyomu in 2020 before receiving a physical edition from Sneaker Bunko.
Cast and crew of the adaptation
Among the new names announced are Yūko Kaida as Masaki Maehara, Shizuka Itō as Sora Asanagi and Minami Tsuda in the role of Miki Yagisawa. The main cast features Haruki Ishiya playing Maki Maehara and Manaka Iwami as Umi Asanagi.
The direction was handled by Hideki Tachibana at studio CONNECT. The series script is supervised by Keiichirō Ōchi, known for his work on The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten and The Quintessential Quintuplets. Meanwhile, Shoko Takimoto is responsible for the character designs for the television adaptation.
