Boruto – Is Kawaki really a villain or is this a mistaken view?
Kawaki found refuge in the Uzumaki family and developed a hatred for the Otsutsukis because Isshiki tortured him his entire life. Momoshiki 's Karma . Since Naruto took him in, Kawaki has become very close to the 7th Hokage to the point of doing anything to protect him.
So he took drastic actions like trying to kill Boruto and trapping Naruto and Hinata in another dimension so they wouldn't intervene. In this sense, he will clearly be seen as a villain by others, but his motivations are not illogical. Even Boruto once agreed to the idea of killing him because of Momoshiki's threat. Kawaki was indeed mistaken in his actions, but his only intention was to protect his savior who welcomed him as a son. In this scenario, he walks a fine line between villain and protector.
