The story follows Osamu Dazai, a famous author who desires nothing more than death, but is unexpectedly transported to a fantasy world. In a unique twist on the isekai genre, Dazai, who has a pessimistic view of life, deals with challenges and creatures in unusual ways, bringing a dark and sarcastic touch to the narrative.

Since October 2019, the manga Isekai Shikkaku has been published on the Yawaraka Spirits. In 2024, the work received an anime adaptation produced by the studio Atelier Pontdarc, airing from July to September.

For manga fans who enjoy fantasy stories with a touch of humor, Isekai Shikkaku stands out as a must-read.
