A chaotic portrait of youth
The story follows Chanel and her friend Chihiro, two students living in a city marked by various social problems. Violence, drugs, poverty, and discrimination are part of the daily life of the region, creating an unusual setting for a school comedy.
Furthermore, the older students at the school have a reputation for being aggressive, tattooed, and constantly involved in trouble. In this turbulent environment, the protagonists try to cope with the challenges of adolescence while facing increasingly absurd situations.
Jimoto Saiko brings together MAPPA names
The anime Jimoto Saiko will be directed by Tokio Igarashi, while Ryō Takata will be responsible for the script. Character design will be by Rio, with animation production led by Takahiro Ogawa. The announcement video used the song "milk" by the singer Aiko.

The manga initially appeared on X (formerly Twitter) and won over readers with its biting humor and irreverent approach. The publisher Saizusha released the first collected volume in 2022, while the eighth volume arrived in stores in August 2025.
With the arrival of Jimoto Saiko! on Netflix, MAPPA further expands its list of streaming adaptations. Keep following AnimeNews for more news about anime, manga, and upcoming releases this season.
