Author Masao Ohtake, widely recognized for his work Hinamatsuri, officially announced the production of an anime based on his manga J⇔M (Jay M). The story features a comedic and unusual premise of body swapping, involving a professional assassin and an elementary school student.

Originally serialized on the Haruta Orta website of the publisher KADOKAWA, the plot focuses on J, a legendary and feared assassin from the Japanese underworld. However, his routine changes drastically after bumping heads with Akaboshi Megumi, a lonely girl. As a result, the two switch personalities, generating chaotic situations. Furthermore, Masao Ohtake's action-comedy manga will release its 7th volume in Japan on March 13th.

Author's expectations for the premiere

Ohtake expressed enthusiasm for the animated version, highlighting that the fight scenes will gain a new dynamism on screen. "I believe the voice acting will bring a level of fun impossible to replicate on paper," the author stated.

However, he joked about the technical difficulty the voice actors will face when portraying swapped characters. Therefore, the expectation among anime news is growing regarding the visual fidelity of the work.
