John Wick franchise , starring Keanu Reeves, continues to expand its universe and will now be adapted into an anime ! According to Chad Stahelski, co-creator of the saga, the project is in full development and will be a prequel to the films, exploring events prior to the stories.
The new anime will explore one of John's life moments: the "impossible task" of retiring and living a married life. While specific plot details haven't been revealed yet, Stahelski mentioned that the anime will bring a more fun and dynamic approach to this action-packed universe.
This new adaptation is just one of several planned expansions for the John Wick . Although in addition to the anime, fans can look forward to the Under the High Table , which will focus on supporting characters from the Wick universe, and a spin-off film centered on Caine , played by Donnie Yen.
Stahelski, who cemented the franchise, emphasized that, even with so many new productions in development, they will preserve the essence that made John Wick a success:
'We want to ensure that even as we explore new mediums like anime, the quality and identity of John Wick remain intact,' said the director.
