has announced Shonen Jump Shueisha the confirmation of a second season for the anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The announcement was already expected by fans, as the first season ended with scenes featuring the character Joutarou Kuujou and the message "To Be Continued". The new episodes will cover the third arc of the manga, titled Stardust Crusaders.
Director Tsuda Naokatsu and series director Kenichi Suzuki will return to oversee the anime at David Production. Yasuko Kobayashi is responsible for the scripts and Takako Shimizu for the character designs, completing the return of the main team from the first season.
The first season was released in Japan in October 2012 and had a total of 26 episodes that adapted the first two story arcs: Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency.
In Stardust Crusaders, the story takes place 49 years after the first part, with Joseph Joestar's grandson discovering he has the power to summon a Stand. This manga arc was first published in 1989 and consisted of a total of 15 volumes. The manga is currently in its eighth volume.
