David Production studio , responsible for all previous adaptations of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, returns to animate the series. Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi will direct, while Toshiyuki Kato will serve as series director. According to Kimura, Steel Ball Run will show characters running in a grand competition, where each one bets their beliefs. Adapting the seventh part of the manga, Steel Ball Run takes the plot to the United States of the 19th century. The story follows Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who lost the use of his legs but briefly regains the ability to walk after witnessing the mysterious power of Gyro Zeppeli. Motivated by this phenomenon, Johnny decides to participate in the cross-country race, beginning a journey full of bizarre battles and memorable characters.
