The highly anticipated sequel to the anime JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run had new details revealed during AnimeJapan 2026.The so-called “second stage” of the adaptation will premiere in 2026 on Netflix, along with a new teaser video released at the event.

The first part of the anime premiered on March 19th, with a special 47-minute episode available globally. The production adapts the manga by Hirohiko Araki, published between 2004 and 2011, totaling 24 volumes within the main chronology of the franchise.
The anime continues to be produced by studio David Production, known for adapting the entire series from its earliest parts. Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi are directing, while Toshiyuki Kato serves as series director.

Furthermore, Yasuko Kobayashi returns to write the script, maintaining the narrative consistency of the franchise. Character design is handled by Daisuke Tsumagari, and the soundtrack continues to be composed by Yugo Kanno, a recurring composer for the series.
Race marks a new phase for the franchise
Steel Ball Run presents a story set in the Old West, following Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli on a race across the United States. The work mixes action, supernatural elements, and historical figures, and is considered one of the most distinctive installments in the series.
The adaptation comes after the success of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, which concluded between 2021 and 2022. Meanwhile, the most recent manga, The JOJO Lands, has been in publication since 2023.
