The official Jujutsu Kaisen profile shared a message from Gege Akutami, who congratulates the anime on the results delivered in the second season. Furthermore, the mangaka recommends those interested in creating anime or manga to watch this arc for the influence it brings.

“Everything was created with so much care and detail, if they had told me that the second season of the anime would just be a flashback arc, I wouldn't have doubted it for a second!!

I can't believe we're also getting Shibuya after all this!! Setting aside my own original work for a minute here, but I really want to recommend anyone who wants to get involved in creating manga or anime in the future to watch all five episodes of this arc!! It was five weeks in a row being loaded with all the possibilities of the current and next generation!!”

Synopsis:

The story therefore follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who becomes involved with a secret society of sorcerers called Jujutsu Kaisen, who fight against curses, evil beings that haunt the world of the living. So, to protect his friends and innocent people, Yuji decides to join the jujutsu sorcerers as a student in training under the guardianship of Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of all.

The first season of the anime premiered in October 2020 and had 24 episodes animated by studio MAPPA . The studio also handled the animation for the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 , which takes place a few years before the main series and tells the story of young Yuta Okkotsu.
