Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji and Choso's fight gained unusual inspiration

Jujutsu Kaisen episode 37 Itadori Yuji and Choso 's incredible fight . Then, Kazuto Arai , the episode's director, revealed what inspired this fight to be so impressive.

According to the director, the MAPPA used two anime as references to develop the animation for this episode. The red and blue lights highlighted in the battle were inspired by the style of the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners .

On the other hand, the inspiration for the running water effects came from the anime Kizumonogatari . Thus, the director developed an excellent color scheme, cinematography, and choreography to make Yuji's fight unforgettable for viewers.

Synopsis: 

Ever since high school student Yuji Itadori became involved with the secret society of sorcerers called Jujutsu Kaisen, he has been training to confront the curses, evil beings that haunt the living world. Therefore, to protect his friends and innocent people, Yuji decides to join the jujutsu sorcerers as a student-in-training under the tutelage of Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of all.

The anime's first season premiered in October 2020 and consisted of 24 episodes, animated by MAPPA . The studio later animated the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, set a few years before the main series and telling the story of young Yuta Okkotsu.
